Discover our Mola Capa shoulder pieces – wearable art that weaves a tale of culture and craft. These captivating creations showcase upcycled Mola textiles from Panama and Colombia, each one a testament to tradition and creativity. The Mola textiles, originating from the native Guna (former Kuna) communities, are a canvas of intricate stories woven through vibrant patterns.

They are made using reverse appliqué, a technique that involves layering fabrics of different colors, cutting slits in the upper layer or layers, and folding back the cut edges to expose the color beneath.

Our distinctive ceramic beads elegantly link the textiles on the front, draping across the chest with grace. Be prepared to turn heads as you embody the fusion of history and contemporary flair.

Each piece comes with a handmade "tipico" bag.

How to wear it: Wear it over a simple dress or top as a statement piece for those special events like gallery openings, festivals, or even as your accessory for a wedding. Pro tip: Hang it on your wall on a stick when you're not using it! See video where we show how to put it on and play around with the looks.

Size description: This piece is a medium in terms of beaded chain length. Nevertheless, it will adapt to your body and shape. You can adjust the look by positioning it on the shoulders (see model photos for size reference).

Everything is handmade by Mayan artisans in Guatemala and textile sourced ethically in Colombia directly from the makers. See photo of the lead artisan, Maria, who put together this piece.
