Our Huipil Ponchos are all magnificent pieces of wearable art. Each one is different and very unique. The common denominator between these poncho-style wearables is that they all resemble that of the Mayan huipil which is a slipover shirt made from traditional textile. The length of a traditional huipil and our version of the huipil can vary from a short top to much longer.
In the front, the Xena Huipil Poncho consists of netted ceramic beads (our classic bead and our rounded bead). These nets are connected in the centre with lines of our classic ceramic beads with an enchanting pattern. On the back, you will find the same symmetrical setup, just a bit shorter. The front and the back are connected by two pieces of geometric, traditional, and vintage textile.
The color combination of black and multicolor make this a stylized and terrific piece to wear on any occasion. This huipil poncho does not get more unique and exclusive. If you love our ceramic beads, this is the ultimate piece of Los Colores de la Tierra wearable art displaying complex threading, embroidery, sewing, and the list goes on and on.
Size: The size of the Xena piece is one-size. Since this is a poncho, it adapts to the body wearing it, and it can be adjusted slightly by positioning it on your shoulder.
All our Huipil Ponchos are handmade in Guatemala by Mayan artisans.
