One of our original signature designs, the Ceremonial Aguacatán Shoulder Piece brings together handwoven cotton, silver-set jade and flowing ceramic beads. Resting across the shoulders and draping gracefully over the chest, it transforms traditional craftsmanship into expressive, contemporary wearable art.

A Textile Rooted in Tradition

At the heart of the piece is a handwoven cotton textile from Aguacatán, Huehuetenango. Its intricate geometric patterns belong to the town’s ceremonial textile tradition, carrying a connection to the community and the celebrations for which these textiles are worn.

Jade Framed in Silver

Two authentic jadeite stones adorn each side of the textile, each carefully set in Guatemalan sterling silver. Their polished surfaces and silver surrounds offer a beautiful contrast to the woven cotton, drawing the eye to the textile before it follows the cascading beadwork below.

Beads That Move With You

Short fringes of handmade ceramic beads frame the textile, while longer strands fall in sweeping layers across the chest. Carefully combined colours and textures complement the woven patterns, bringing the whole piece to life with every movement.

An Adjustable Fit

Designed in one adjustable size, the shoulder piece rests comfortably across the shoulders. Wear it over a simple top or dress to give its intricate details and flowing silhouette room to shine.

Each textile and arrangement of beads varies slightly in size and composition, giving every piece its own character. No two are exactly alike.

Handmade in Guatemala

Every Ceremonial Aguacatán Shoulder Piece is handmade by Mayan artisans in Guatemala. From the woven cotton to the individually crafted ceramic beads, it reflects the time, skill and care behind a piece of art you can wear.

We recommend not showering or swimming with your new jewelry, however a bit of splashing won't hurt. When not using the jewelry, hang it or lay it out flat. The jewelry can handle being dropped but try not to squash them between two hard surfaces.
