Ceremonial Aguacatán Shoulder Piece

The Ceremonial Aguacatán shoulder piece is one of our classic and original designs, an unmistakable statement of heritage, ceremony, and craftsmanship.

At its core is a hand-woven cotton textile, created exclusively in the town of Aguacatán, Huehuetenango. These intricate, geometric patterns are more than decoration; they are the very designs worn in Mayan ceremonies and celebrations for centuries.

Each side of the textile is adorned with three jade stones, six in total, carefully set in Guatemalan sterling silver. Jade has been revered by the Mayan people for centuries, symbolising life, harmony, and protection. The presence of these stones elevates the piece, adding both cultural depth and a radiant focal point that grounds the flowing beads below.

From the textile, small fringes of handmade ceramic beads cascade outward, adding rhythm and movement. Below, long flowing strands of our signature ceramic beads fall gracefully, blending colors and textures that catch the light and command attention.

Each shoulder piece is one-size and adjustable, designed to rest comfortably across the shoulders while draping beautifully over the chest. Variations in beadwork and textile size are part of its uniqueness, no two pieces are ever alike.

Every Ceremonial Aguacatán shoulder piece is entirely handmade in Guatemala by Mayan artisans, preserving ancestral techniques while transforming tradition into contemporary wearable art.
