Inspired by a galactic bird, this ceremonial poncho combines colourful bird embroidery with a vintage huipil from Chichicastenango. Its design draws on Mayan cosmology and the importance of the sky and sun, bringing together geometric patterns, deep colours and green jade.

Handmade Details

Our handmade ceramic beads echo the colours of the textile, with black, pink, cream and bright accents flowing into layers of fringe. Each strand is carefully assembled by experienced artisans, with patience and attention to the smallest details.

Birds Embroidered by Hand

Two embroidered birds sit against warm, pale backgrounds, their colourful feathers surrounded by flowers and leaves. Their flowing shapes contrast with the geometry of the vintage huipil.

We recommend to not shower or swim with your new jewelry, however a bit of splashes and sweat won't damage the piece. When not using the jewelry, hang it or lay it out flat. The piece can handle being dropped and folded gently but try not to squash it between two hard surfaces.
